A Current Prescription Is Needed Before We Can Dispense Prescription Lenses

How long has it been since you last had an exam at the optometrist to check on your prescription? New glasses cannot be dispensed when the patient has an expired prescription.

If you can’t remember how long it’s been since your previous examination or cannot locate a copy of your prescription, you’ll need to arrange for a vision test first.

Once you have a vision test, we may be able to fill same day prescription glasses for your convenience.

Consult with your optometrist to learn when you should come back for a follow-up visit.

Patients typically come in once a year or more often for regular testing, according to the eye doctor’s recommendation.

Benefits of New Prescription Lenses

Getting a new pair of prescription lenses provides a range of benefits. For example, your old glasses may have lenses with a prescription that is too weak.

We can clear that up by giving you a vision test, of course. You might want to replace your glasses because they have been banged up and are uncomfortable to wear all day.

Or, it could simply be a matter of style. People’s preferences change over the years, and perhaps you are due for a new look, starting with a pair of striking designer frames.

We carry all the latest designs and will be happy to help you find the perfect frames to go with your face.

Options for New Prescription Eyeglasses

Your optometrist will be happy to go over all of your options before getting new glasses.

You have a choice of glass or plastic lenses, for example, with the option to compare issues of strength and weight.

We can create bifocal lenses so you can look through one-half of the lenses for seeing distant objects and the other half of each lens used to see close up items, such as when reading a restaurant menu.

If you are outdoors a great deal of time each day, you may want to consider getting prescription sunglasses as well. Our staff can include UV and anti-glare coating to protect your delicate eyes from the harsh rays of the sun.
