What to Expect at Your Contact Lens Exam in Chicago
If this is your first visit to one of our Eye Society locations serving Streeterville and the Chicago Loop, you’ll be asked to provide us with your current health information and any insurance details before meeting with the doctor.
After a discussion with our Chicago optometrist that addresses any questions or concerns you have, you will have a comprehensive contact lens exam.
Your eye doctor will use several tools and specialized pieces of equipment to evaluate the health of your eyes. The first part of the exam is precisely the same as a traditional eye exam, and your eyes will be checked for visual clarity, how well they cooperate as a pair and any need for vision correction will be determined.

Additional tests we can perform may detect any signs of non-eye related systemic health issues diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, warning signs of stroke, as well as risks for certain neurological and autoimmune diseases.
Your contact lens exam in Chicago will continue as your eye doctor checks for adequate eye moisture that increases the comfort of lenses.
They will also take additional measurements of your eye surface to help ensure that your contacts will properly adhere to the eye and offer optimal vision correction.
If contact lenses are a good option for you, we’ll give you a trial pair. After showing you how to insert, remove and clean them, you’ll go home and try them out for a few days.
Return to our office for a follow-up to discuss your experience and to order lenses that best suit your lifestyle.

“Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff“
Always a pleasant experience! Able to get in for appointments quickly and no wait time. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable staff. The last time I was in they gave me a couple samples of daily use contacts and I already love them! I also love that they have the ability to take photographs of the back of my eye rather than doing dilation because I always hated getting my eyes dilated. Doing the photographs was quick, easy, and pain free!
